Steel Cities Region Road Racing Rules
The competition year extends from January 1 through The Great Pumpkin Race for points accumulation toward the Steel Cities Road Racing Drivers Championship. Come out and be part of the Drivers Championship and be recognized for your achievements.
The championship is open to all Steel Cities members (including dual members).
- Participation, as the driver of record, in any SCCA sanctioned road racing event (including Enduro races) at the club level, subject to exceptions below, will be counted toward the championship. Races do not have to be in the Northeast Division. (Pro events, Solo events and Driver's School events are not eligible for points).
- The driver must register for the event using Steel Cities as the region of record. The drivers region is generally printed on the results sheets for most events; make sure it's correct.
- For national and regional races with a single SCCA Sanction number, the Sunday race must be used. For weekend events with two or more sanction numbers (Double Regional’s or Double National’s), I will count both races.
- The driver accumulating the most points during the competition year will be declared the champion.
- Points are as follows:
- 1st place = 12 points
- 2nd place = 9 points
- 3rd place = 7 points
- 4th place = 6 points
- 5th place = 5 points
- 6th place = 4 points
- 7th place = 3 points
- 8th place = 2 points
- 9th place = 1 points
- Only the best 6 finishes count toward the championship.
- In the event of a tie in points at the end of the season, the tie breaker will be based on the greater number of wins. If a tie still exists, the most 2nd place, 3rd, place etc. finishes will be used to break the tie.
- A final finish sheet, with timing and scoring signature, must be sent to Bridget Connolly if you want to add a different race.
- Come out and be part of the Drivers Championship and be recognized for your achievements.
Thank you,
Bridget Connolly
